Simpson Primary School

We pledge to:

Inspire and empower young people to get involved in social action.

As a Rights Respecting School we have been looking at articles 14, 27 and 31 this term and discussing ways to ensure that everyone has the chance to get their rights met. We have been thinking about what it means to have your rights met over this festive period and how Christmas time can be very difficult for some people. Each class has made an #iwill pledge. Here are a couple of examples:

– we will donate our old toys to charity.
– we will make a special mention to those less fortunate in our Christmas letters.
– we will donate food to food-banks.
– we will donate money to charity.

We’ve just pledged to the #iwill campaign recently – watch this space for updates on our progress

Quote from the CEO at Step Up To Serve
“The #iwill campaign is driven by leaders from across society who are committed to making youth social action a normal part of growing up in the UK.
We know that young people want to play an active part in improving their communities, and that in doing so, they develop their own skills for work and life.
With pledges helping to support the growth of youth social action, we want you to remember that it’s never too late to say #iwill. Will you be next?”
