Green Spring Academy Shoreditch

Our Big Volunteering survey tells us that 91% of our students volunteer on a regular basis

All members of our school community have signed up to the #iwill campaign

Fundraising is just part of what we ‘do’ at Bethnal Green Academy. Last year we raised £5086 for the charity Crisis. This was more than any other school in the country. The year before we raised over £4000 for the Philippines DEC appeal. In 12 months, we have raised over £10,348.07 for charity

We are working towards our Eco Gold Award

We are raising money for Bridges to Africa and for the victims of the Nepal earthquakes (DEC)

Our Sixth Formers are part of the National Citizen Challenge

We recognise and celebrate the contributions of others through our Social Action Awards Evening

We mentor students in our local primary schools through our ‘buddy’ reading programme. We also work with a special school on a joint music project

We have a Celebrating Difference week and promote kindness to others at times

Students participate in Model UN

A group of students are helping to design and install a mural at Stevenson House, working with the Sick Children’s Trust

Our Sports Leaders support sporting events in our local community

We promote Fairtrade Fortnight by selling Fairtrade products, hosting a football match and a Fairtrade bake off
We were pioneers in working with Shoreditch Citizens promoting ‘Safe Havens’ in the community

We are working with BGA Green Ambassadors on a Community Clear Up campaign on March 14th 2015

We hosted the ambassador training for the Invictus Games
