Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

  • We want young people to be an integral part of our vision, which is to be a first class provider of sustainable healthcare services, delivering the best possible care to our patients and being a great place to work for our people.
  • The valuable spare time young people continue to offer in supporting our patients, visitors and staff is highly appreciated. They make a vast difference to patient experience at Chesterfield Royal and create a positive perception of the value of young people amongst the wider community served by the Trust.
  • We will continue to offer enjoyable meaningful hospital-wide volunteering experiences that will help young people fulfil their own personal goals for volunteering and enabling them to make informed choices about their future career and lifestyle choices.

We serve North Derbyshire and beyond – a combined population of around 460,000. There are around 3,700 people working for us supported by 130 volunteers, aged from 16 to 90. We became an NHS Foundation Trust on January 1 2005
We provide a full range of acute services – plus 24-hour accident and emergency care, community midwifery and specialist children’s services. We have more than 20 wards and around 550 beds. Our annual income is now around £210 million since 2005 we’ve invested more than £100 million in new services, technology and facilities.

Quote from Charlotte Hill, CEO at Step Up To Serve
“The #iwill campaign is driven by leaders from across society who are committed to making youth social action a normal part of growing up in the UK.
We know that young people want to play an active part in improving their communities, and that in doing so, they develop their own skills for work and life.
Over 700 cross-sector organisations so far have pledged to support youth social action, and say #iwill. What will you do?”
